Research Infrastructure (RI) Name: Facility of Chemical Analyses (The Cyprus Institute)

Mission: The Facility for Chemical Analysis (FCA) was established in 2016 with the mission to provide advanced chemical analyses services and support to the Research Centres of CyI. The Facility has also the mission to assist CyI in collaborating and providing services to the national and regional/international academic and research communities, and in certain cases to the public and private sectors.
Objectives: FCA gathers the latest trace analytical techniques for various types of samples following international, standardized operating procedures. Combining high tech (mass spectrometer) instrumentation and a team of experienced engineers, FCA provides a large range of quality controlled chemical analyses relevant mainly for Air and Water quality. FCA instrumentation is fully automated, allowing for the chemical analysis of a very large volume of samples in a timely and efficient manner.
Research Services provided: The main activities include the support of research groups in terms of physicochemical analysis procedures (laboratory space, storage of chemicals, storage of samples, preparation of samples, analysis of samples). Also the FCA's personnel provides technical expertise, advice and assistance to other individuals (researchers, academic staff) and research groups in order to promote their research activities.
