Mission: During the last decades great attention has been given both to the environmental sector and the wider field of Chemical Science and Technology, because of their crucial role for the industrial development and tackle of societal problems. The aim of the undergraduate curriculum of the Department of Environmental Science and Technology is the education of students in the fields of chemical engineering so that students are able to meet the needs of this knowledge area globally. The curriculum, as one of its kind offered in a Cypriot university is structured in such a way so that members of academic staff can provide training in additional fields of chemical engineering. The theory lectures are complemented with practice in laboratories.
Objectives:
- To attract students and high level academic and administrative staff.
- To provide quality undergraduate and postgraduate academic experience and professional development in the field of Chemical Engineering.
- To facilitate and expand international cooperation and educational mobility and movement of students and academics, particularly in the European area.
- To promote basic and applied research on issues related with Petrochemical and Environmental Engineering.
- To develop close cooperation with all bodies involved in relevant issues such as public services, private sector, non-governmental environmental organizations and local authorities.
- To develop high-level research and provide consulting services that aim at solving modern environmental, technological and societal problems.
- To provide the basis for promoting a lifelong learning on issues related to Petrochemical and Environmental Problem.
