Mission: Contribution to the control and prevention of environmental pollution.
Objective: In collaboration with the competent Authorities (The Department of Inspection of the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance, the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research, the Department of Environment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, the Water Development Department), the Laboratory develops and implements programs for monitoring the efficiency of domestic waste treatment plants, the quality of sea water and sea sediments and the quality of air.
Research Services provided:

o Within the framework for the implementation of the Law on Air Quality (N.77(I)/2010), the Law on Ambient air quality and Management (N.188(I)/2002) and the Laws on Water Pollution 2002 and 2005 (water framework directive 2000/60) the laboratory analyses samples of: Treated domestic and industrial wastes, Soil, Sea, Sea sediments and Air.

o GC/MS, GC/ECD, HPLC-FL, ICP-OES, ICP-MS
