Mission: The Euro-Mediterranean Center for Oncology and Palliative Care has as its mission to develop the infrastructure and qualities required in the pursuit of knowledge about the problems faced by patients, their families and their carers and society in general and to lead the development of new ways to address these problems
Objectives:
- The collaboration with official bodies of Oncology and Palliative Care and Universities in Cyprus and abroad, in order to transfer expertise and the backing of the state to address issues related to these themes
- The development of an international network for research on issues related to patients with cancer and patients requiring palliative care. The ultimate objective of the center is to become the National Centre for Oncology and Palliative Care in Cyprus
- The initialization of research on the development of novel approaches in the supportive care of patients affected by cancer
- The investigation in terms of complementary approaches/methods in the care of patients with cancer with emphasis on symptom management and the improvement of their quality of life
- Supporting and empowering patients and their family (i.e. informal) caregivers in the self-management of the disease
Research Services provided: The delivery of clinical applications in practice to patients and family caregivers that have been affected by cancer
